(Original Caption) Unwonted activity in New York police circles on September 20th caused unconfirmed surmises as to whether sensational developments in the Lindbergh case were impending. No tangible information was readily obtainable although it was believed four men and two have been taken into custody in connection with the case. Pictured above is J. Edgar Hoover, of the US Department of Commerce, who arrived at the Greenwich Street Police Station in company with high officials who figured in the investigation of the Lindbergh case.
